Binwasher
The Bin Washer BW-2 is a eurobin washer for the food industry: it washes 200-litre bins and 1,000-litre containers to food industry hygiene requirements. The machine has two separate tanks, a prewash tank and a wash water tank. The prewash rinses coarse soil off with cold water into its own tank, and the actual wash runs on separate wash water at 55–65 °C. With two tanks the wash water stays clean through the whole shift: the result is consistent, water consumption is 20 litres per cycle and capacity is 20–50 cycles per hour. The bin washing machine is designed and built in Säkylä, Finland, and can be integrated into an existing production line.

Technical Description
An industrial bin washer, not a wheelie bin cleaner The BW-2 is built for the meat, fish, bakery, beverage and food industries: for 200-litre bins, often called eurobins or meat bins, and for 1,000-litre containers. In production, bins collect fat, protein and food residue that have to be removed before the bin goes back into use. The machine is sized to the container type and the capacity you need. Two tanks: prewash and wash kept separate The BW-2 has two tanks that are separate from each other. The prewash tank circulates cold water that rinses loose soil, food residue and fat off the bin. The wash water tank holds wash water adjustable between 55 and 65 °C, where the bin is washed with detergent dosing. Soil from the prewash stays in its own tank and never reaches the wash water. In a single-tank machine the prewash and the wash share the same water, so the water gets dirty as the shift goes on, detergent performance drops and the result varies within the shift. In the BW-2 the hot wash water and detergent only meet an already prewashed surface. The result stays the same from the first wash of the shift to the last, the wash water lasts longer between changes, and water consumption is only 20 litres per cycle. A consistent result also supports your food safety system: because the wash water does not get dirty during the shift, every bin is washed under the same conditions. Construction, controls and connections The controls run on Siemens TIA Portal S7 logic. Several heating options are available, and accurate detergent dosing keeps the hygiene level consistent. The stainless steel construction withstands demanding industrial use and is easy to clean and service. The electrical connection is 400 V / 100 A. The BW-2 can be integrated into an existing production line. You can watch the machine in operation in the video on this page. When you have more bins to wash When there are more bins than a single machine can wash, bin washing is built as a line. Pohjaranta's single-row prewash, wash and rinse units are available as bin-washing models. A delivered steel bin washing and storage system, for example, washes 100 bins per hour in a three-stage line with prewash, main wash and rinse. It uses 3–5 litres of water per bin, and the clean bins are stored automatically. If you wash other equipment besides bins, the Multiwasher MW-3 multi-purpose wash cabinet washes bins with an adapter trolley in the same cabinet as your other items. Delivery and commissioning Delivery starts by going through the containers you wash, your volumes and the installation site, and the machine is sized on that basis. Installation is timed to a production shutdown, the machine is test run with your own bins, and your operators are trained before handover. Design, mechanics and automation are done in-house at Pohjaranta. Bin washing machine FAQ What size of containers does the BW-2 wash? 200-litre bins and 1,000-litre containers. The machine is sized to the container type and capacity. How much water does one wash use? 20 litres per cycle. The separate prewash tank also extends the interval between wash water changes. What temperature is the wash water? The wash tank temperature is adjustable between 55 and 65 °C. The prewash uses cold water. Can the bin washer be connected to a production line? Yes. The BW-2 can be integrated into an existing production line.
