A tyre washing machine for high volumes The tyre washer is intended for sites where large numbers of tyres are washed and the result has to be consistent every time, in both tyre manufacturing and maintenance operations. The automated washing process replaces manual washing, reduces tyre handling and keeps throughput steady. A clean tyre is easier to inspect, and no dirt is carried with it into storage or the next work stage. The tyre washing machine is part of Pohjaranta's washing line range, which uses the same technology to wash crates, bins and moulds. How the tyre washer works The tyres pass through an automated washing process that removes dirt and contaminants effectively without straining the tyre structure. Detergent dosing is automatic, so no one has to dose detergent by hand and the result stays the same from batch to batch. For drying, a tyre dryer version of Pohjaranta's single-row dryer is available to connect to the washing line. Customised to tyre types and sizes The machine can be customised for different tyre types and sizes, and it can be connected directly to an existing production line. Sizing takes into account the tyre sizes, the required capacity and the connection to the rest of your production. When you request a quote, tell us your tyre sizes and target capacity. Construction and maintenance The washing line is built to withstand continuous operation and harsh industrial conditions. Maintenance and cleaning have been made easy, which shortens downtime and lowers maintenance costs. The electrical connection is 400 V / 100 A. Design, mechanics and automation are done in-house at Pohjaranta, and the machine is test run at the factory before delivery. Delivered tyre washing line Pohjaranta has delivered an industrial tyre washing line for a heavy-duty application in Finland. The line handles 100 tyres per hour and took six months to manufacture. The delivery is presented under projects as Tyre Washing Line, and the video on this page shows the line in operation. Delivery and commissioning Delivery starts by going through the tyres you wash, the capacity you need and the installation site. The machine is sized and fitted to your existing premises on that basis. Installation is timed to a production shutdown, the machine is test run with your own tyres, and your operators are trained before handover.
